To: Western SoundSilver Lake, Los Angeles, California
Hi, I'm Dan Leone. I'm in the process of relocating from Connecticut to California and I'd really like to put myself on Western Sound's radar.I'm hoping to apply for your current open Audio Producer position, but I won't be arriving in LA until June (I see that you're looking to hire ASAP). So, instead, I'd love to be in the back of your mind should a position become available in the future that you feel I'd be a good fit for. Some background: I produced a show called Podcast Meander. It was praised for its immersive sound design/score, its blending of audiodrama and journalism, its frank representation of mental illness, and for its genuine uniqueness. Wondery's Radio Drama Revival featured it. Audible Feast and Discover Pods named it one of the Best Podcasts of 2017.I'm freelancing currently; my main client is Nathaniel Pearlman - a political tech entrepreneur. (He designed the software the Democratic party uses for targeting voters, and also served as Hillary Clinton's CTO in 2007.) I'm the audio editor on his podcast "The Great Battlefield" and the social media manager for his "Resistance Dashboard."You wrote in a press release, "You've never heard a podcast like this before." I'm a humble/nervous person, so the following feels uncomfortable to write, but I want to be direct about what I can offer you in the "standing out" area:
I truly believe I'm developing sound design/composition/storytelling techniques that are specifically useful to podcasting and that few other producers are utilizing.Collaborating with a team, contributing to the fulfillment of the promise to make exceptional shows, is what I'd like to do for a living.
Much thanks for your time. My resume/samples/links are all available below. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out: firstname.lastname@example.org(860) 942 - 0554
